mom, dad, and I are currently in North Carolina for mom's classes at donna downey studios. I'm so proud of my mom, she is finally seeing that she has a huge amount of talent and a lot more that she has yet to open up. She is finally finding some confidence within herself, and I know when she puts her mind to something, something great will come out of it.

watching: the news with my dad. I don't understand why he enjoys watching the news, but whatever.

reading: Beautiful Creatures. so far, it's pretty good.

needing: to work on spanish...I'm really behind...

obsessing: nothing has changed here, it's still pinterest. everyday. But I am also loving books having to deal with witches and warlocks and all things related.

learning: that life is too short to get angry with stupid drivers.

loving: being on an adventure with my family. We rarely get away, just the parents and I, but the few times that we do I really enjoy it. I love spending time with my family, though I miss being back at home, I really enjoy getting away with them.

looking forward to: March 26th...the new season of secret life. next Wednesday and Thursday. going back home.

pinning: absolutely anything and everything I find that catches my eye. I now have 36 boards.

live in the moment

*let your smile change the world, but don't let the world change your smile.

I have always loved quotes.
When I was a little girl mom and I would always sit down together and search for quotes we loved and wrote them in our "quote books." It was wonderful "mommy-daughter" time! I miss doing stuff like that, but now that I'm older we can do things together that I couldn't have done when I was little.

I also think it's important to capture the random moments in life. This picture was taken at the international cultural expo.

*goals update:
I am still eating healthy and enjoying the foods I love at the same time. I have lost three more pounds!! That makes a total of 6.5 pounds lost last month! I am quite excited about my tiny accomplishment. I have recently gotten back on my schedule of working out every night as well.

Have a good week.

learning: music and how to sing well in choir. how to operate my new canon rebel.

loving: life. Things are going pretty well around here. good grades. happy family. family time. wonderful boyfriend. amazing friends. support from everyone. and wonderful memories being made along the way.

pinning: quotes. my kind of style. photography inspiration. creative inspiration.

**I think that doing your currents every now and then is a good idea. Let's you see how things are changing for you. And you could possibly make a mini book out it at the end of a year, or something along those lines.

results of the retreat

This past weekend was the first retreat of the year for She Scrapbooks. It was wonderful. All the ladies had a good time. Lots of laughs and jokes were shared. We all got to share our creativity with one another. I really enjoy being a part of the retreats, I always have ever since I was a little girl. I managed to get one mini book and three pages complete!

Happy New Year!

In 2011 I accomplished many things and did a lot of good things, but this year, in 2012 I will strive to accomplish more and achieve more. I don't necessarily have resolutions but more of goals for myself this year.

1. Eat healthier - I plan on trying new things. Eating more greens and vegetables. Picking something up for dinner was always the "easiest" thing, but now we will have a home cooked meal every night. I have the choice of eating the healthy food or the junk food...I always have. I have decided that I am going to start making the right choice.
2. Cut the soda - I use to consume a lot of soda in one week, knowing that it was bad. Something clicked though, I will not drink soda unless it's a special occasion but I'm not even sure if I will have one then.
3. Exercise every night - I want to continue being active late in the day. They say it's bad for you to eat later in the day because that's when you tend to be less active, well not anymore. I will dance to dance central 1 or 2 every night.
4. Be nice - When I don't really like someone they usually know it. So I definitely need to work on that. And to my boyfriend, Wesley. I sometimes take him for granted by taking a lot of stuff out on him, and I know he doesn't deserve that.
5. Do one pinterest project every week - I have a slight addiction...okay, a huge addiction to pinterest. I spend a lot of time on that website just endlessly pinning things that inspires me with all things baking, crafting, organizing, photography, etc. So instead of those inspirations just sitting in my boards, I will do one a week.

I believe I can handle those five goals. In my opinion, those goals are realistic for me and they can be done. I have a lot of support with me too, which will make it a bit easier.
I have picked out a word for the past two years, and I will continue with this "tradition." My word for this year is determination. They way my family and I started out the new year, this word really fits me. I have a lot of determination, and I will not give up on anything. I am ready for this year, and whatever it has to bring me.
